Tel Aviv water-sports
Tel Aviv offers a wide variety of water sports. While visiting Tel Aviv, you can enjoy swimming, diving, windsurfing, boating or water-skiing. The choice is all yours.
Swimming
Tel Aviv has 14 kilometers of seaside, and during the hot summer, the sea attracts thousands of swimmers, locals and visitors staying in the Tel Aviv hotels alike. In addition, there are several swimming pools spread throughout the city, including Ramat Aviv swimming pool (7 Levanon St.), Neve Sharett (4 Almagor St.), Neve Ofer (35 Shazar St.), Kiryat Shalom (7 Amikam St.) and Beit Dani (Kabir St., Hatikva Neighborhood).
Scuba Diving
The Mediterranean Sea is a great place to start a Scuba Diving hobby (or career). The Dugit Diving Center (250 Ben-Yehuda St.) offers all the diving equipment needed (for sale or rent on a daily basis), and holds diving courses for all levels. The Israeli Diving Federation (94 Hayarkon St.) offers similar equipment and services.
Waterskiing
If you are interested in a more distinctive and challenging water-sport, try waterskiing in the artificial lake of Park Darom (Menachem Begin Park) in southern Tel Aviv. The waterskiing is performed without boats, but with cables attached to a revolving crane, which is appropriate particularly for beginners.
Boating
Yehoshua Gardens (Hayarkon Park) in the northern part of Tel Aviv rents out pedal boats, rowboats and motorboats. In addition, the place offers cruise boats, which take up to 100 people for 20-minute rides.
Kayak, Windsurf, Catamarans and Kite Surfing
There are several companies renting different kayak boats and surfboards, as well as companies offering organized kayak and surfing courses. The leading clubs offering these services are Sea Center Clubs (at Marina Tel Aviv) and Surf Point (at the Dolfinarium).
Most water sports and rental companies are concentrated next to the beach promenade, where several Tel Aviv hotels are located. Like other Tel Aviv hotels, Adiv is located within a short walking distance from the beach and the major water sport centers. Just ask the staff and they will be happy to guide you on your way to the nearest water sport attraction.
