Shopping - Dizengof Center
Dizengoff Center, a.k.a "The Center", located on the corner of Dizengoff St. and King George St., is the first Tel Aviv shopping center, opening its first store back in 1977 following 5 years of constructions.
It is a large shopping mall (with over 300 stores) that offers almost everything - from designer shops to global chains (Zara, Pull & Bear, Aldo and many others), from fast food to consumer electronics, from entertainment (2 cinemas) to health centers (2 gyms, one with a rooftop swimming pool!).
Dizengoff Center's 4 levels can be a bit confusing to navigate, but its museum-like design was actually purposefully chosen to allow visitors to move around all levels without resorting to an elevator or escalator in order not to miss a single spot in the complex.
One of Dizengoff Center's "must visit" attractions includes SOHO, the design center located at the top floor which offers great items by Israeli designers, as well as running exhibitions and gallery talks about design trends around the world.
On weekends, Dizengoff Center hosts the Fashion Designers Bazaar, with the latest designs of the leading Israeli fashion designers. Despite not offering the most comfortable fitting rooms, it does offer a good glimpse into top local styles and slightly reduced prices. Another weekend attraction is The Food Market, offering a wide selection of homemade traditional dishes and local favorites.
Coffee shops and snack stands are spread around Dizengoff Center, as well as the regular fast-food chains, to make sure you won't leave the place hungry, God forbid.
Those visiting Dizengoff Center by car can leave it in any of the 350 spots at the roof parking lot, or 700 at the basement parking lot.
