Tel Aviv Port
The Tel Aviv Port has not been active as a sea port since it was shut down in the 60's. It was awaken, however, as a nightlife and water sports center during the 80’s, and is nowadays the busiest nightlife center in Tel Aviv, with many of the most popular bars and clubs of the city. Most of the bars and clubs in this area are packed with young crowd every night of the week. Some of these hangouts are popular amongst tourists staying in the nearby Tel Aviv hotels, and can provide a glance at the mingling scene of Tel Aviv's nightlife.
TLV is the biggest, most famous club in the Tel Aviv Port area. It is equipped with great sound and lighting systems and offers a cool sea front section. After years of being a leader in the clubbing scene of “the city that sleeps”, TLV does not have a fixed schedule anymore, but is still holding parties sometimes during weekends. The music played there is mostly electronic, namely house and trance music. If you consider yourself a nightlife person, try checking out in one of the many nightlife magazines and websites if there is a party going on while you're in Tel Aviv.
One of the most popular bars of the city is just nearby - Whisky-A-Go Go, which is one of the city’s hottest nightlife spots. Whisky-A-Go Go is where Israel's celebrities - actors, models, musicians and athletes - come to mingle and have a drink. The place has two floors, the upper floor is for drinking and dining and the first floor includes a large bar and a small dance floor. After midnight, trendy DJs do their best to lift-up the energy level in the bar, successfully most times. Another hip bar in the Tel Aviv Port is Erlich, a well designed bar with younger crowd. Erlich is built around a round bar that occupies most of its space, so it is a good place to meet people and mingle, even when coming alone.
If these places get too crowded, or if you are looking for an open-air bar, try Shalvata (meaning peace or tranquility). In Shalvata you can find a bit more chilled-out atmosphere, accompanied by friendly service (and costumers), good music and cool breeze from the Mediterranean. Notice that this is a very popular place, which tends to be crowded on summer weekends and holidays, so if you are looking for a bar seat, or wishing to avoid the lines at the entrance, you should come early. Next to Shalvata are few bars with the same offerings - open air, friendly crowd and good music.
The Tel Aviv Port is easily accessible by public transportation: Simply take one of the buses located next to Adiv hotel all the way to the north end of Dizengoff and just follow the crowd. As many Tel Aviv hotels, we in Adiv are open at nighttime and will welcome you back in any hour. As most Tel Aviv hotels, we also offer a wake-up call service for the morning, after a night of drinking and dancing till dawn.
