Free guided tour – Old Jaffa
Old Jaffa is one of the best attractions Tel Aviv has to offer. Visiting Jaffa is a fascinating, inspiring and memorable experience. Bear in mind that Old Jaffa is one of the most ancient cities in the world, and has 4,000 years of history. The Old port of Jaffa is one of the first known ports from ancient times which was concurred by most past empires, including the Greek, the Roman and the Muslim. When visiting Jaffa, each of the periods this magnificent city has been through comes to life. Travelling through the narrow lanes of the city truly reveals why Jaffa is one of the best attractions Tel Aviv and Israel can offer.
For those who wish to genuinely explore the wonders of old Jaffa, the Association for Tourism of Tel Aviv-Jaffa organizes a walking tour of Old Jaffa, free of charge. This walking tour is starting every Wednesday at 09:30 at the Clock Tower on Yefet St. The old Jaffa walking tour takes you through the picturesque Flea Market; few archeological sites; the view of Tel Aviv from the Crest Garden (Gan Hapisga); and the renewed alleys of Old Jaffa. In Kikar Kedumim you can find the helpful Jaffa Visitors Center, located at the center of the restored section of Old Jaffa, where you can obtain free maps of Old Jaffa accompanied by historical information, if you wish to enjoy Old Jaffa on your own.
No major Tel Aviv hotels are located in this part of the city, as most Tel Aviv hotels can be found next to the beach promenade, from which there's an easy access by foot or public transportation to Yefet St. Adiv hotel is one of the Tel Aviv hotels located just few minutes’ drive from Old Jaffa. Ask the staff and they will be pleased to guide you on how to get there as quickly and conveniently as possible.
